Weddings and other events are not allowed in select locations in Coimbatore on weekends


The Coimbatore Corporation would not allow weddings or other weekend events in select locations after an additional COVID-19 lockdown restriction imposed by the district administration, according to a press release.

It would permit approval for weekend events on Cross Cut Road, 100 Feet Road, Oppanakara Street, Ramamoorthy Road, Saramedu Road, Rice Mill Road, NP Itteri Road, Trichy Road stretch from Singanallur Junction to Ondipudur Overpass, Hope College Junction, Kalapatti Deny Road, DB Road, NSR Road, Arokiyasamy Road, Saravanampatty, Ganapathy Junction, Thudiyalur Junction, Peelamedu Junction, NH Road, Edayar Street, Vysial Street, Thomas Street, VH Road, Raja Street, Big Bazaar Street, Range Gowder Street, Gandhipuram Streets 1 through 11 and Sullivan Street, the corporation said.

Elsewhere, she wanted people who rented wedding halls or community halls or rooms in hotels to not allow more than 50 guests and urged the hall or hotel management to strictly enforce the guest restriction.

If it is found that the management or the organizer violates the COVID-19 restriction, the group will not hesitate to impose a fine and take action, it says in the message, adding that the citizenship will take the decision after discussion I met representatives from various associations on Tuesday.
