More than 2,000 athletes will take part in the U.S. Triathlon Multisport National Championships Festival in Irving this week.
The inaugural festival will feature several races, including a bike race, a run and a bike race.
People can still sign up to volunteer. Volunteers are needed to distribute race packs, provide support along the courses and at the finish line, and work at the aid stations.

If you’d rather cheer on the spectators, head anywhere along Las Colinas Boulevard, U.S. Triathlon spokesman Stephen Meyers said.
All races will begin and end at the Levy Event Plaza, 501 E. Las Colinas Blvd., for those who wish to cheer from the finish line.
Just plan to park somewhere nearby and walk because Las Colinas Boulevard and the Carolyn Lake Boardwalk will be closed for much of the weekend, Meyers said.

The public is also invited to award ceremonies each evening. The ceremonies will include live music, race highlights presented on a giant inflatable screen, lawn games and drinks from Mom on trial at Irving.
