Several charities are partnering with Tesco in a campaign to raise funds that will help the people of Burnham-On-Sea live healthier lives.
The Tesco Store in Burnham-On-Sea supports the Tesco Health Charity Partnership and will raise funds for Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK from September 13-26.
Tesco customers can donate by rounding up the amount they spend in stores to the nearest £ 1 at self-service checkouts. All funds raised will go directly to the three charities that are part of the “Help you live healthier” partnership.
The partnership aims to inspire, empower and support Tesco colleagues, customers and their families to make healthier food choices and lead healthier lives.
Hopefully this will help people make sustainable lifestyle changes that can help reduce their risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
Oonagh Turnbull, Head of Health Campaigns at Tesco, said, “Cancer, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes are three of the greatest health challenges of our time, affecting the lives of millions of people each year. But without donations, the work of our charity partners to prevent the damage these conditions are causing simply cannot continue. “

The fundraiser comes as the three charities experienced a significant drop in income as fundraisers were canceled and retail stores closed during lockdown restrictions. Charities have seen a slow recovery since restrictions were eased, and there is still a long way to go before revenues return to pre-pandemic levels.
Supporting Tesco customers during this critical time will help any charity continue their vital work to save and improve lives.
The partnership will also share trusted health information and advice to enable Tesco customers to take small steps to improve their health.
