Support Connection, Inc., a Yorktown-based non-profit organization that provides free support services to people affected by breast, ovarian and gynecological cancer, is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors.

The newly appointed board members are: Ida Doctor (Tarrytown, NY), associate director of risk management at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx NY; Barbara Kerasiotes (Peekskill, NY), retired school trustee, Lakeland School District; Marcie Kaplan (Mohegan Lake, NY), Client Strategist, Recruitics, Norwalk CT; Marge O’Brien (Cortlandt Manor, NY), retired Managing Director, Regulatory Oversight Team, Deutsche Bank; Nancy Stingone (Yorktown Heights, NY), owner, Unique Design Creations, Yorktown Heights NY.

Chairman of the Board, Gary Wawrzycki, said, “When an organization, especially one as incredible as Support Connection, is able to add one or two incredibly passionate, smart, and business-savvy people, it should be very grateful and excited. I am so honored and delighted that our Board of Directors has grown with five new members, all of whom fit the above description and who have been both volunteers and ambassadors for the cause for years already. The support connection board of directors is a diverse group of dedicated volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to help the organization fulfill its mission. The council includes people whose lives have been touched by cancer, business leaders and community members. In addition to providing governance for the organization, the board works to raise funds and seek out resources to improve and maintain Support Connection’s programs and services.

Support Connection’s newest members join an unwavering and passionate board of directors, including Gary Wawrzycki (Garrison, NY), president; Steve Kollias (Shrub Oak, NY), vice president; David Sacarny (Armonk, NY), treasurer; Janet DeVito (Danbury, Conn.), secretary; Carol Cirieco (Somers NY); David Paganelli (Yorktown Heights, NY); Diana Quast (Ossining, NY).

Katherine Quinn, Executive Director of Support Connection, shared her excitement saying, “We welcome our newest board members and look forward to seeing them share their time, talents and passion for Support Connection with the other dedicated members of the Board of Directors.
