The arrest in Dabri today comes days after Delhi police said they had arrested the mastermind of an interstate sextortion gang from the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan.

The Delhi police arrested a sextortion gang in Dabri in the southwest of the capital on Tuesday, the ANI news agency reported. Five people were arrested, the agency report said.

According to the police, the members of the gang had previously contacted the targets via the Tinder app and extorted money, ANI reported.

Last week Ghaziabad police arrested five people for allegedly running a sex racket and looting crores rupees from innocent people.

According to the police, the defendant communicated with people through an application called “strip chat” and made a profit. They later made morphed sexual videos of their victims while chatting with them.

The police said that a huge amount of money had been extorted from the victims by threatening to publish the videos on social media.

The police have sex toys, jewelry, four cell phones, three check books, two passports, three Aadhar, PAN and ATM cards each, six web cameras and laptops Cash worth 8,000.

The arrest in Dabri today comes days after Delhi police said they had arrested the mastermind of an interstate sextortion gang from the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan.

Police said the defendant, identified as Nasir, along with his staff, allegedly extorted many rupees from the victims by threatening to post their offensive videos online. The videos were created through communicating with them on Facebook and WhatsApp.
