A POOLE schoolboy who tragically died of cancer this year has been immortalized as a character in a popular card game.

Jack and Rachel Constantine, co-founders of Realm Runner Studios in Poole, lost their seven-year-old son Dexter to rhabdomyosarcoma from childhood cancer on July 27.

In memory of brave Dexter, who attended Longfleet Primary School, Realm Runner Studios has created a heroic new character in its Achroma fantasy card game.

Dexter’s character, Master of Dragons, was rendered by artist Matt Vince and is seen hovering with Crackle and King Boomer – his two much-loved plush companions.

Her father Jack said: ‘We are absolutely devastated to lose such a loving soul who yearned to live and fought until the end. He played Achroma a lot and enjoyed beating his best friend Herbie, especially with his own Dexter card which we managed to get printed before he died.

Fans of the card game can join Dexter’s family and friends at a charity event held in his honor on Sunday, September 25.

The free event is taking place at the Entoyment Wargaming and Hobby Center in Poole, with free game cards, the chance to learn to play Achroma and a raffle for children’s cancer charity Alice’s Arc.

Dexter’s family hopes to both raise awareness of rhabdomyosarcoma and raise funds for Alice’s Arc, which have been essential in supporting Dexter and his family through his illness.

“We’re thrilled to be able to raise money for a childhood cancer charity by doing something Dexter loved: playing games,” added Jack.

“The Entoyment team helped us organize a day full of fun and fundraising, as well as some amazing prizes to be won.”

Dexter Master of Dragons is the first Realm Runner card to be released for Achroma, a fantasy physics card game for all ages.

Dexter is also the grandson of Mark Constantine, the founder of cosmetics retailer Poole Lush. As a tribute, Lush will be selling a limited edition ‘Dexter’s Dragon Egg’ bath bomb which is available online and in all Lush UK stores.

All proceeds from the sale of the special limited edition card and bath bomb will go to Alice’s Arc.
