The man in red decides who is naughty or nice, but he hasn’t always turned out to be that nice.
Whether it’s murder, abuse or arson – Santa Claus kidnapped his character for the worst of reasons.
As millions of children wait for Santa Claus to arrive on Christmas Eve, history has revealed some really terrifying stories of real-life murders that took place on December 24th and Christmas Day.
Here are some of the absolutely nastiest Santas to ever wear the white beard and red coat.
Bruce Jeffrey Pardo: The Covina Massacre – 2008
On Christmas Eve, 45-year-old Bruce Jeffrey Pardo knocked on the door of his ex-wife’s house in a Santa suit.
At the time, his ex-wife was hosting a Christmas party with over 20 other people in Los Angeles.
When an eight-year-old girl opened the door, he immediately shot her in the face.
He killed nine people, including his ex-wife, her mother, her father, her sister and two brothers, and injured three more before burning the house down with a homemade flamethrower.
His original plan may have been to escape to Canada, but Santa’s suit melted on his flesh, meaning he took cover with severe burns before turning the gun on himself.
Aziz Yazdanpanah: Santa Claus kills his own family – 2011
On Christmas Day, 56-year-old Aziz Yazdanpanah walked into his ex-wife’s apartment, disguised as Santa Claus, and shot her, her two teenage children and three other relatives while opening gifts around the tree.
Yazdanpanah then turned the gun on himself after calling the Texas police where he said, “Help, help. I shoot people. “
According to reports, a friend of Yazdanpanah’s niece received a text from 22-year-old Sara Fatemeh Zarei saying, “Well, we are here. We just got here and my uncle is here too. Disguised as Santa Claus. Brilliant.”
She added: “Now he wants to be completely fatherly and become father of the year.”
Cops came to find all the dead in the house and it is believed that Yazdanpanah was jealous that his ex-wife was doing so well in her life after she broke up with him.
Gabriel Cadis: Jaffa sting – 2012
On January 6, 51-year-old Gabriel Cadis was stabbed to death by a man in a Santa suit during a street parade celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Eyewitnesses said they saw a Santa impersonator stab Gabriel to death and then run away from the scene in Jaffa city.
Two men named Tufik Dalou and Faud Abu Mana – then 24 and 26 years old – were convicted of the murders earlier this year, according to The Jerusalem Post.
During the parade, the men reportedly chased Gabriel, taking turns wearing Santa Claus masks so they would not be recognized before stabbing him twice in the back.
Fuad’s uncle Talal Abu Mana was also convicted of conspiracy to murder and as an attendant to the murder.
Cops believe the conspirators were a family he had a real estate dispute with.
Gregory Broadbent-Palmer: Paedo Santa – 2015
Convicted pedophile Gregory Broadbent-Palmer, 40, was sent back to prison after getting a job as Santa in a York hotel.
The father of two hid his 2007 belief in downloading pornography when he became a night manager at a Best Western hotel.
Broadbent-Palmer came into contact with children dressed as Santa Claus and conducted a cooking class for nine and ten year olds, employees said.
Staff stopped and reported Broadbent-Palmer after they found images of child abuse on his iPad.
He admitted having naughty pictures of children and was imprisoned at York Crown Court for two years.
Lawrence Lewis: Caring for Santa – 2016
Santa impersonator Lawrence Lewis, 57, was banned from playing Santa Claus and jailed for 22 months after bribing young girls to lightning 3 pounds for him.
Lewis pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court of offering the eight year old girl and her 11 year old buddy to show their “bum” and “bum” while they believed he was the real Santa.
The creepy Lewis from Waterlooville, Hants said to one of the girls when he suggested them, “I bet you look pretty”.
