Take a look at these fond Christmas memories in Doncaster from the 1990s
Almost 2,000 cancer cases are diagnosed each year in the Doncaster region (covering South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw CCG), with Doncaster patients accounting for around 25% of patients at Weston Park Cancer Center in Sheffield.
“Ant Marketing Weston Park race day is always a big event on our calendar,” said Darren.
“Without events like this, we have unfortunately seen an estimated 50% drop in income during the pandemic – at a time when people facing cancer need us most.
“We are already delighted with the event and look forward to welcoming tens of thousands of spectators again through the turnstiles. For one in two people, a cancer diagnosis will change everything, but with the support of people and organizations across the region, so can we. “
Rachel Harwood, Executive Director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “We are very proud to see the return of Ant Marketing Weston Park Race Day in 2022 – the cancellation of the event left a huge hole in our schedule over the past two years.
“We are also very happy to have such a prestigious entertainment program after the end of the race. We know racing fans will be very happy to see the Kaiser Chiefs perform live and it will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the funds and awareness that we manage to raise.
“To have raised over £ 150,000 (and it’s not over) to support cancer research, treatment and care since our first day of racing in 2016 has been a huge achievement, and we couldn’t have to do so without the incredible generosity of the people of this region. . “
