It’s official: Caesar’s Superdome is the new home of the saints

With we’re about a month away from NFL football, the New Orleans Saints have an official new home: the Caesars Superdome.

It was believed that it was only a matter of time since interest was announced back in March, but now we can prepare for a unique and interesting partnership between the Superdome, the Saints and Caesars Entertainment.

The original story from March is below.

Because the Atlanta Falcons desperately want to be the New Orleans Saints, after purchasing the naming rights for the Atlanta Falcons’ new stadium, the Mercedes-Benz Dome, Mercedes-Benz had to withdraw their naming rights for the Superdome in New Orleans.

This meant that the naming rights for the team’s home in black and gold were on the market and there were rumors of numerous potential suitors, including the adult website “Stripchat“. Could you imagine the strip chat Superdome …?

There is always hope in a fan base that the naming rights to their team’s stadium will be subjectively “cool” – a brand that immediately evokes class and that cool factor. Does anyone really want the Dollar Tree Superdome to be a thing?

Well, it sounds like after a year of reviewing various companies’ offerings, the Superdome finally has a new sponsor: Caesar’s Entertainment.

What the actual name of the Superdome might be is still unclear, but Caesars is definitely something that many casual fans can get behind. Caesar’s is the parent company of Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans. A partnership here would create the first NFL stadium named after a casino.

There is already a lot of intermingling between the Saints and Harrah’s as fans who regularly attend games are aware of various freebies and in-game videos sponsored by Harrah’s Casino. Formal name sponsorship could also serve to add to this pairing, and it would be no surprise at some point to see kiosks around the stadium where live bets could be placed during and before the game.

Stay tuned for more details on if and when a new name will be officially announced.
