Cat O’Dell, bJulian O’Dell, the beloved wife of a renowned real estate industry trainer and EYE contributor, has sadly passed away after a 12-year battle with cancer.
Cat was also Julian’s partner in the extraordinary annual fundraising event Catfest, which has raised over £200,000 for cancer charities.
Catfest has been supported by many of Julian’s client estate agencies and industry vendors including Kerfuffle, Agency Express and EYE.
Julian said: “As a family we are heartbroken but moving forward day by day. Cat has been my soul mate for 36 years. She was also the best real estate agent I have ever worked with in a country mile. She has been a driving force at Thomas Morris for over 20 years and many of our former employees have sent wonderful messages saying she was the best agency boss they have ever worked for. Many of the female staff saw her as a role model given her success as a woman in a male-dominated environment.
“Catfest was something she was extremely proud of and we will be hosting it again in 2023 as a tribute to her. I know she will be there in spirit.
Julian also expresses his gratitude to his corporate clients and real estate professionals who sent messages of support, letters, cards and flowers. There was a major performance at his farewell service on November 1, where the church in Salford, Bedfordshire, was full and the live overflow in the village hall could not accommodate everyone who wished to attend .
Julian takes a break from business life until the time seems right to start again.
