Seven members of local cycling group Burnham Cycle Sisters took part in ‘Ride the Night’, a nighttime cycling challenge in London.

Starting in Windsor, they traveled the 50km route along main roads A and B with 1600 other women, raising funds for ‘Woman V Cancer’ which supports three cancer charities – Breast Cancer Now, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.

“It was a truly unforgettable experience,” says Roz Benney, one of the local participants.

“All our bikes were lit up. We had flashing headbands so we didn’t get lost on the course and the atmosphere was amazing.

“Going to London and taking a picture of Big Ben on Westminster Bridge at 1:20am was something we don’t normally do on weekends!”

“Most people have had an experience either with themselves or with close friends or relatives who have suffered from cancer. We hope our efforts will help at least one person.

The Burnham Cycle Sisters enjoyed the experience so much that they have already signed up to double the distance in 2023!

Any other donation would be graciously accepted. You can donate online here. They added their thanks to Living Homes who transported the bikes.
