Mike hopes to raise over £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK next month as part of his charity challenge after being diagnosed with the disease five years ago.
That means riding 200 miles a day on his dream Triumph Bonneville T100 machine and his journey will take him through the Peaks, Yorkshire Moors, Lakes and Snowdonia.
Mike, Managing Director of Robin’s Row Insurance Company in Bognor Regis, explains: “I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017.
“Despite chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I still live with it.
“On the good side, it is controlled by a number of drugs.
“I always stay positive.
“A man dies from prostate cancer in the UK every hour, so Prostate Cancer UK does valuable work in both awareness and research.
“They definitely helped me.
“So why did I choose to go on a motorcycle ride?
“I thought that given the side effects of the drugs, which cause fatigue to drive the equivalent of 200 miles over five consecutive days from May 16, 2022, would present a good challenge.
“It is essential to keep an open mind at all times on a motorcycle.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make stops to admire the view or have some caffeine.
“The exact route is undecided but I will provide regular updates posted on Facebook.
“I set a target of £1,000 just because it’s a pound per mile.
“I hope you can donate; every little donation counts!
