Asda joins #CaterpillarsForCancer

Asda takes up the promise to bring together supermarket caterpillars to support cancer charities and joins the #CaterpillarsForCancer movement this June.

10 percent of all Clyde and Frieda, Asda’s caterpillar cake sales go to Asda’s Tickled Pink charity partner Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! during the month of June.

The new initiative is part of Asda’s 25th anniversary celebrations of supporting the UK’s leading breast cancer charities.

Customers can choose between the rich and chocolate-filled Clyde the Caterpillar Cake and its gluten-free sister Frieda, the free from Caterpillar Cake.

Asda Senior Director for Community Jo Warner said, “We took the chance to be part of the #CaterpillarsForCancer movement and support Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! through our Tickled Pink campaign – which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

“We pride ourselves on our inclusive range of caterpillar cakes – and while Clyde is the perfect centerpiece for parties, ‘free of’ families don’t have to miss out on the fun as Freida is our gluten-free caterpillar.”

“A great inclusive cake that raises money for breast cancer charities – that’s what we call a win-win!”

The campaign is supported by the Asda Community Champion in the Chesser Store in Edinburgh, Gary Anderson.

Asda Tickled Pink has raised a phenomenal £ 71 million since 1996, with every penny used to fund world-class research, life-changing support services, and outreach work to promote regular breast control behaviors.

Together with Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! Asda Tickled Pink is working to change the future of breast cancer in the UK.

On behalf of Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! said Baroness Delyth Morgan, CEO of Breast Cancer Now, “We are incredibly proud of our longstanding Tickled Pink partnership with Asda and are excited to welcome Clyde and Frieda on board through Asda’s commitment to #CaterpillarsForCancer.”

“Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the UK and the effects of the pandemic mean that people affected by this devastating disease need us now more than ever.

“As such, we are grateful to Asda, its colleagues and customers for their unwavering support, creative fundraisers, and commitment to raising awareness about breast cancer – helping provide support for today and hope for the future for all who suffer from breast cancer. “

10 percent of all proceeds from the sale of Asdas Clyde the Caterpillar Cake and Frieda the free from Caterpillar Cake will go to Tickled Pink from June 1st to June 30th.
