MIAMI, March 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — by Louis Hernandez Jr. Foundation for a bright future (“For A Bright Future”, “FABF”), a non-profit organization that supports the needs of underprivileged children, has opened its application period for the 2022 scholarship program.

For A Bright Future Foundation provides annual financial support to underrepresented minority students with an important promise that, when given equal access to the right tools and programs, can become successful members of society and future leaders in their community.

The Foundation Scholarship Program was created in 2019 because we saw an urgent need to help with one of the most important pillars of a healthy and productive education for underprivileged children – access to higher education. Since launch, we’ve read hundreds of compelling stories of young people who, with support and tools, can build a better future for themselves and their families,” said Susie Hernandezmember of the board of directors of the FABF and president of the scholarship committee.

The scholarship application period is open February 28and2022, until May 30and2022, 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

Scholarship applicants should choose from the following categories: Unique life challenges and/or pursue a specific field of study for higher education as follows:

  • Global Scholarship: Several scholarships support education in science, technology, engineering, arts (creation) and mathematics (STEM) and sustainability.
  • Dr. Emma Lerew Scholarship: supports education towards teaching careers.
  • Healthcare Fellowship: Supports education toward direct healthcare roles.

In addition to fields of study, FABF focuses on unique categories, including:

  • Step Up Scholarship Fund: Supports students from single-parent families and those who represent the first members of their respective families to attend college.
  • Semper Fi “Honor” Scholarship Fund: Supports families of veterans.

“The For A Bright Future Foundation grew out of my own experiences, and I understand the importance and inspiration that a college scholarship can bring to disadvantaged and underrepresented young people with high potential. I am delighted to award the next group of scholarship recipients and I wish the applicants the best of luck in their pursuit of higher education. We are proud to help reduce the financial barrier that many students from modest backgrounds face,” said Louis Hernandez Jr.Founder of the FABF and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
